University administration: The university administration consists of the sponsor, the president of the university council, the university president, the vice chancellor, the university vice president, the secretary of academic affairs, the librarian, the dean of student affairs, and the deans of colleges, institutes, centers, and their assistant departments. University Council: It is concerned with considering university policies, such as creating and canceling jobs, establishing colleges and institutes, and setting university systems and regulations. The membership of the Council consists of forty people, including twenty-one members from outside the university (including the President of the Council) who are competent, specialized, and interested in education and national issues. They are joined to the university based on the recommendation of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and nineteen members from within the university, including the university director. His deputy, the university vice president, the secretary of academic affairs, the librarian, the dean of students, and eight other members elected by the Faculty Council, including at least three college deans. The Council's membership includes three people representing university employees, two of whom are non-faculty members and two student representatives. Professors Council: It is responsible for considering the establishment of systems for accepting students in university studies, granting academic degrees, awards and honorary degrees, encouraging scientific research and directing scientific policies at the university. Its membership consists of: the University Rector (Chairman of the Council), the Vice-Rector, the Vice-Rector, the Secretary of Scientific Affairs (a member and rapporteur of the Council), the Librarian, the Dean of Students, the Deans of Colleges, the Directors of Institutes and Centers, the Heads of Departments and Administrative Units, and the faculty members who hold the rank of professor. University Director: He is primarily responsible for the academic and administrative performance of the university, assisted by the Vice Chancellor, the University Vice President, and the various university institutions (Council of Deans, Council of Professors, etc.). The Director chairs the Professors’ Council, the Deans’ Committee, the committees for appointing and promoting faculty members, the Planning and Development Committee, the permanent committees, and any other committees determined by the university’s systems and regulations. vice president: He acts on behalf of the director in his absence and is responsible for the development and management of scientific activities at the university and their coordination between colleges, scientific research units and other scientific units. He chairs a number of committees determined by the university’s systems and regulations. Agent: The Vice Dean is responsible to the University President for the administrative and financial performance of the University in accordance with the provisions of the University’s systems and regulations, and he is a rapporteur of the University Council and its Executive and Financial Committee. Secretary of Scientific Affairs: The Secretary of Scientific Affairs is responsible for implementing and promoting the university’s scientific performance through: Follow up on the implementation of the decisions and recommendations of the Faculty Council. Supervising the admission of students to the university and supervising examinations. Preparing and approving academic and honorary degrees at the university. Supervising the affairs of teaching assistants. Preparing all university statistics, supervising the printing of official university publications (university guide), and amending the basic systems and regulations of the Faculty Council. Dean of Students: He consults with the Student Affairs Council to help students benefit maximum academically, socially, and educationally. In addition to observing order among them and good behavior inside and outside the university. He is responsible for implementing the general policy related to students, in addition to supervising the Student Union and its various activities. His duties also include counseling, health, psychological and educational care for students.
